Ping-Pong Phenoms: The 10 best prospects in Junior Table Tennis today

Table Tennis fans should keep a close eye on these teenage ping-pong phenoms. Table Tennis, another beloved sport of the Indians was bought home by the English Men. Though the game was not much of a sought-after type of sport, with the evolution of players such as Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan and Manika Batra and tournaments such as UTT endorsing the Table Tennis talents in the country, the sport has witnessed a new dawn in the recent times and India is quite on the verge of a sporting revolution. Whilst, the seniors has made some astounding performances in the recent times, that influence is being felt all the way down to how our brightest young players are evaluated and developed, who have also etched their marks at the International level. Here are the top 10 Junior players who have scintillated at the Junior level. 10) KARNAVAR ARNAV MANOJ Karnavar Arnav Manoj, who is 15-years-old, represents at both the Cadet and Junior categories at ITTF tournaments. Karnavar finished as a quarterfinalist at the ITTF Junior Circuit Ghana Junior and Cadet Open and lost in the semis at the same. He is also ranked 163rd at the ITTF Cadet category. 9) NISTALA MAINAK Nistala Mainak, the 13-year-old is ranked 749th at the ITTF junior rankings. He represented at both the cadet and the Junior categories and advanced onto the Quarter-finals of the ITTF Junior Circuit premium, Ghana Junior and Cadet Premium at the Cadet level and secured a group win at the same in the Junior category. 8) OM CHETRI ADARSH The 7th ranked TTFI player is also ranked 433rd at the ITTF Junior circuit. He bagged the silver at the National TT rankings tournament. He also represented India at the ITTF Golden circuit tournaments earlier this year. 7) DEENADAYALAN VISHWA The 15-year-old from Tamil Nadu is the TFFI top ranked Junior player. He emerged champion at the North Zone and the South Zone Table Tennis Rankings Tournament. The youngster competes at both the cadet and the Junior level at the ITTF tournaments and is ranked at the 311th place at the ITTF Junior rankings. He participated at the Thailand Junior and the Cadet Open and lost at the Round of 64 at the Juniors and 32 at the Cadet. 6) PAL AKASH Pal Akash stands ranked 138th at the ITTF Junior rankings. He claimed title at the Inter School Table Tennis Championship in 2017.  He was a part of the three-member team that secured gold at the Hang Seng Hong Kong Junior Open at the Golden circuit tournament. The duo comprising him and Jain Anukram reached the quarter finals at the same.  He represents TTFI at the Junior category and emerged at the Pre-Quarterfinals of the Bahrain Junior and Cadet Open. 5) PATIL DEEPIT RAJESH The Maharashtra boy, won his maiden National title last year. He represented India at the ITTF Junior category in the Golden and the premium tournaments.  The Duo of Patil and Jain Anukram reached the Pre-Quarter Finals at the doubles of ITTF the Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship. He is ranked 13th at the TTFI Junior rankings and 70th at the ITTF Junior rankings. 4) JAIN ANUKRAM The Jain Anukram, Albuquerque Regan and Shah Manush team stomped into the finals of the Asian Junior & Cadet Championship and concluded runners. He was a part of the team that clinched title at the Hang Seng Hong Kong tournament. Anukram was also a part of the duo that lost to Japan at the Pre-Quarter-finals of the Asian Table Tennis.  He is ranked 228th at the ITTF junior rankings and 37th in the ITTF Youth boys rankings. 3) PAYAS JAIN The 14-year-old is the third Indian, ranked 47th at the Junior ITTF rankings.  He represents at both the cadet and junior levels. He bagged silver at the recent Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship. He was the Quarter-Finalist at the Bahran Junior and Cadet Open which is at the Premium category of the ITTF Junior Circuit and lost at the Pre-quarter round at the Junior Circuit Golden category. He also holds a rank 8 at the TFFI junior rankings. 2) ALBUQUERQUE REAGEN Albuquerque who is ranked fourth at the TTFI Junior Circuit, has represented India at the Junior circuits and was a part of the Juniors team that won the silver at the Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship. He also finished at the Pre-Quarter Finals at the Golden two of the Golden events at the International Junior Championship tournaments. He also emerged runners at the junior TT National Rankings Table Tennis Championship. He is ranked 23rd at the ITTF junior boys’ rankings. 1 ) SHAH MANUSH UPTALBHAI The eighteen-year-old hailing from Gujarat with his recent victory at the National Table Tennis Ranking Championship is the top ranked Indian Junior Table Tennis player. Manush  is ranked 7th  at the ITTF junior rankings after he reached  the Quarter-finals at 25th Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship in which he lost to Shinozuka of Japan  and was also noted to reach the semi-finals at the China Junior Open this year.
