She started playing at the age of six, she keenly watched how her dad used to play in the club and that’s how she started to have a liking towards squash. Her first match for India was the Asian Junior individual championship in 2010 at Sri Lanka and she bagged the Bronze medal.
Perks of being an athlete
Being an athlete has taught me to lead an organized life to achieve better results. The vast exposure to the outside world has helped me mould myself in terms of my character and personality. Last but not the least we get to travel around the world!
Who had the greatest influence in your life
My Dad! He was an awesome sports player and has true sports blood but he could not achieve anything because his parents lacked the knowledge in sports. When I had all the support I decided to achieve it for my Dad!
Are you a Predator or a Buddha when you are on field?
I am definitely a Predator on court because that’swhat brings the best of my game. I believe that I can give my best.
Any rituals you follow
I do not follow any rituals as such but I definitely spend some time hearing music to pump up the blood. It will help me to be focused on the game.
One match that you are proud of
I Won the decider match in the semis for entering the finals of the 16th Asian Junior Team Championship held at Korea. We ended up winning the title of 2013 which was not lifted by India for seven years. It was a tournament and performance of mine that I am proud of.
What does it mean to you to represent India?
There is nothing more special than representing my country because that is what every sports person aims at and wishes for. To raise the Indian flag is truly a privileged opportunity.
Your ultimate achievement?
My ultimate achievement is to win the World Senior Team Championships for our country.

It is a natural talent in which the skill needs to be developed to master the game.

My awards shelf and of course my parents who were responsible for that.
