IIT Madras’ 6-day flagship sports festival, Agrata 2019 upped the energy levels in the campus as several college teams from across the state fought against each other in several sports.
The final day of Agrata’19 concluded on 21 September 2019 with the final of football took place where IIT Men’s A team emerged victorious in a close encounter match. The win continued for hosts in Men’s A Squash and Pole Vault and they also made a place in the finals of Basketball (Men and Women)

In 4 × 100 metres relay for Boys, MCC finished first with 44.00 sec while Guru Nanak College came second with 45.56 sec and IIT Madras third with 45.96 sec. In the girls category, WCC (Women's Christian College) bagged the gold with the timing of 54.598 sec, Nazereth College got the Silver medals.
In Table Tennis for Boys, Loyola ICAM got first while IIT Madras remained at second. In the TT for girls IIT Madras bagged the gold.
There were also competitions such Sports Quiz competition in collaboration with the Quiz Club, IIT Madras, photography contest and one-of-a-kind online chess competition – ‘Online Blitz Battle Royale’ comprising of the chess player's from 10 different IIT's and several other events organised just for the to encourage an active participation in various sporting activities.
Overall, Agrata’19 witnessed more than 10 sports events, both indoor and outdoor. Every event saw great participation from the teams from various colleges across the state. The winning teams were given the prizes and certificates during the closing ceremony. The overall championship trophy was bagged by IIT Madras.
Agrata’19 concluded with lots of fun, fervor and enthusiasm among the participants, who spent six days filled with sportsmanship, thrill and excitement during the matches.
