Scores of schools across Tamil Nadu will be in action on Wednesday as the inaugural edition of Skoolympics 2019 gets under way in Chennai.

In a bid to give a platform for promising youth who may one day play for this country and to push more schools across the state to get children to take part in sports competitions – Skoolympics is here for the future of rural sports in the state.

The first edition of Skoolympics 2019 is scheduled between October 9th-13th, 2019 at Nehru Indoor Stadium, SDAT Aquatic Complex, SDAT Hockey Stadium and Nehru Indoor Stadium featuring more than 100 schools from across Tamil Nadu competing across 10 sports.

This event is digitized by “TournamentOS”, an exclusive operating system for sports tournaments.

Skoolympics 2019 was ideated keeping in mind the lack of centrally organised sports fests in the city. The initiative is to primarily identify young sporting talent and to give them a platform to train and perform to their best abilities.

Children under 18 years can participate in the badminton, tennis, table tennis, swimming, athletics, basketball, football 5’s, kabaddi, volleyball and hockey tournaments.

The entire event will be run and managed on the TournamentOS platform. It will help in creating a database of young sportsmen in the state who will hopefully be able to participate across national and international tournaments in the future.
