When did you start playing Squash?

I started playing squash when I was 9 years old, I had a Squash court in my building. One thing led to another and later I saw myself getting pretty good at the sport.

One person you would like to have as your coach

I would like Jonathan Kemp to be my coach. He’s a great player and I think he’ll make an excellent coach.

One win that you are very proud of

I am proud of each and every win that I have earned.

Something that you truly believed in and nobody else did

I believe in my ability. I’m sure that I have made people believe in it as well.

The toughest punishment you have received

One time, I got hit with the Racket 10 times for each and every mistake I made.

What would be your ultimate achievement?

My ultimate achievement would be to become the world’s No. 1 squash player.

How will you want to be known in 10 years from now?

I would want my achievements to speak for itself in 10 years. What I do now and how I do it, is what is going to reflect later.

In what area of the game do you think you have to improve?

I’d say every aspect, but mainly my lung capacity and endurance require more improvement.

An athlete gets to travel all over the world. We get to see many places and that is very exciting.

Your biggest inspiration

Rafael Nadal is my biggest inspiration. He is one of the greatest players in the history of sports. He’s committed and has a unique style on court.

What matters the most during ‘Do or Die’ situations?

It is essential to be aware of all the possibilities in a particular situation. One should also be willing to take estimated risks. Belief in one’s self is important in “Do or Die” situations.


What are the most common roadblocks that stop people from achieving their dreams?

The lack of people and the right peer group, in general, are roadblocks for people from achieving their dreams. Motivation and positive energy must surround a person so that they can perform to the fullest of their potential. Another roadblock that sets people back is regret. Regret affects the self-confidence of a person.

The greatest influence on your life

My coach had the greatest influence on my life. He unleashed the thirst for success, that I crave now.

Who knows you the best?

I know myself the best. I think it is advantageous for an athlete.

What is the scariest experience you have ever had?

Once, I walked in an alley at 3 a.m. in Egypt. That was the scariest experience I ever had.

One superpower you wish you had

I wish I had the power to control time. I’d like to go back and forth in time and pause it whenever I please.

Your partners in crime

I’m a solo act. I don’t need partners. I, myself, am a handful.

Describe one moment that you won’t forget

Manchester City winning the premier league in the 94th minute is an unforgettable moment.

One thing you used to do as a child that you wish you could still do?

I miss playing five different sports a day.

What is your naughtiest moment during school days that you can remember?

I was one of the naughtiest kids at school. I remember spray painting the school bus.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would use the money to hire the best coaches, physiotherapists etc…for myself.
